Buying brand new gym equipment isn’t always an option for everyone. Gym equipment can be expensive so how can we go about purchasing discounted gym equipment in a price range that we can afford? You will find there are plenty of yard sales about that are selling used gym equipment, often at significantly cheaper cost than brand new retail prices.
Gym equipment is bought with good intention but over time often gets unused. This is a great opportunity to pick up a bargain at a yard sale.
The key to getting it at a knock down price is knowing the price of the equipment before you go to the yard sale. The easiest way of obtaining brand new retail prices is by going online and doing some research on the equipment that you desire to buy. Make a long list of all the different types of equipment you’d like to purchase and the different manufacturers that sell them. If you don’t know much about gym equipment ask a friend for help and advice. Knowing the price and specification of the equipment will allow you to bargain more with the person selling the second hand equipment at the yard sale.
When you’re at the yard sale, examine the equipment for sale and ask how long they have had it, how used it has been and when the last time it was used. If it hasn’t been used for quite some time then a little maintenance may be needed. This could mean just a little oil here and there or a full maintenance overhaul. However, if you are prepared to overhaul it, this could make way for some serious bargaining on your part. Make sure you don’t pay over the top on price given the state and condition of the gym equipment.
Be fully aware of what it is you are buying and don’t just buy something because it is cheap. Use your common sense and come up with a sensible offer – if you really want it. If you do your homework you really can pick up a bargain buy at a yard sale. You will be glad you did your research when you finally find the one for you.
