15 Fun Things To Do At Work: Courting Copy Machines And More
Work is good. Without it we would die, if not from boredom, than from not having any money with which to buy food. But just because work is hard, that doesn't mean it can't involve fun. Here are ten great things to do at work to make your office have a more lighthearted atmosphere.
1. Water Cooler: Pray to the water cooler. Leave small sacrifices to it. Do not leave immolations.
2. Copy Machines: Ask your co-workers when they're really swamped if they need a hand. When they say yes, hand them a photocopy of your hand. It's even funnier if you do it with color copiers.
3. Speak: Place a sign on your copy machines that says "New Software Installed: Voice Activated - Speak Your Command." Hide and watch.
4. Coffee: Have a coffee drinking contest and record it to be a viral sensation on YouTube.
5. Congratulations: Proudly walk around with your calculator and hand out cigarettes. When they ask what the occasion is, say "It's a boy!"
6. Nerf Guns: Shoot them at your co-workers when they are deep in thought. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt.
7. Enunciate: Always speak in a different accent. Try not to be offensive.
8. Name Call: Call everyone Bob or John for a day, even ladies.
9. Slipperize: Take off your shoes and wear your slippers around the office. It may help to do this with some colleagues, so that it is a "theme" and not just one of your eccentricities.
10. Try to be Funny: When everyone is working, shout a joke and then apologize sheepishly.
11. Walk: Do different walks - like a crab when you're going to the copy machines, a silly walk of your choosing when you're going to the bathroom, and skip when refilling your coffee.
12. Speaking of Coffee… Create a coffee song that you sing before you take your first sip of the day.
13. Say "I like your style" and shoot at people with double-fisted finger guns.
14. Create a nemesis: Ignore them, address Good mornings to other people, and generally make them feel bad. When it gets too stressful, tell them that you're sorry for being such a jerk and invite them out for drinks. When they reject you, you'll finally have a good reason for being so mean.
15. Trade: Carry your monitor, desk lamp, keyboard or any other piece of office equipment and ask your co-worker if they want to trade. These fifteen tips should keep you busy for a few weeks. And hey, if you still work there after all this, pat yourself on the back and appreciate your job a little bit more.
